MISSION(guinex)

Mission

The coast of the Gulf of Guinea, in addition to being part of the Brazilian strategic environment, is, geologically, a mirror of our coast, on the other side of the Atlantic, and the countries located there, as well as Brazil, value regional cooperation and maintenance of peace and security in the region, in line with the values that guided the founding of the South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone (ZOPACAS).

The Navy, for years, has contributed to the security of the region, receiving officers and soldiers from the naval forces of African countries, especially from the GG, for military-naval training. In addition, it has Naval Missions in Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe and, in the latter, a Technical Support Group for Marines, whose attribution is to contribute to the deepening of training through technical-military and administrative advisory services.

At sea, MB has contributed to training through the participation of ships in exercises such as OBANGAME EXPRESS, since 2014, and GRAND AFRICA NEMO, since 2019.

Thus, within the context of a comprehensive initiative by the MB for cooperation with the countries of the Gulf of Guinea, since 2021, the Command in Chief of the Fleet began to organize GUINEX commissions, on an annual basis.
